The Republic Day Celebration.

Ans. 26th of January is a gala day for every Indian. On 26th Jan. 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and our country, India became the Republic. We celebrate this day as a festival every year. This year it was celebrated with pomp and show in our school. All the students assembled on the school ground at 7:30 am. After some time the principal and other distinguished persons arrived. The principal unfurled the national flag. This was followed by our National Anthem ‘Jan Gan Man’ sung by a team of students. Then the series of speeches started. The Principal addressed the gathering. He emphasized the need for student participation in Games and sports. Our class teacher also delivered a fine speech on the ‘Importance of computer’ and ‘English’. The whole programme of Republic day was nice. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets.

                  A Devastating Fire

Ans -At about 7:30 P.M on a windy evening a big cloud of smoke was seen rising from a shop in the market of Rajwara Indore has a number of shops and go-downs. The fire brigade was given an urgent call. Soon a desolating fire engulfed the whole area. A large number of people gathered. They started pouring buckets of water on the flames and struggled hard to put out the fire. A strong wind only worsened the situation. By the time the fire brigade reached almost fifty shops were in flames. The fireman did a wonderful job. The fire could be completely put out in two hours. A fireman did a brave job. He plunged into the burning building and came out with a lady on the shoulders. A life was saved. However, the loss of property was big and it could n’t be taken into account soon.

            A Visit to a  Hospital

Ans -- Last Monday, I went to a hospital to see a relative who was suffering from Malaria. As I entered the Hospital building, I saw some people waiting to be registered, while others standing in queues in front of Doctors’ rooms. I went past them and took the stair leading to the first floor. There  I saw the surgical ward with patients lying on their beds with nurses attending to some of them. Then came the medical ward and I saw my relative lying on a bed. He gave me a faint smile and said that he was getting better but will have to stay there for some more time. I stayed with him for about half an hour and then took my leave promising to visit again.

The Scene at the Polio Camp

Ans. The polio Camp was held under the National Polio Eradication Campaign by the primary health center in the Phool Bagh on 15th April. Along tent was erected. There was a long queue of children with their parents. The drops of polio vaccine were given the children up to five years. The small babies were in mother’s arms. There were an officer and a guide who was writing down the name and the address. They were making a mark with the indelible ink on the nail of the children. The nurses were then dropping the two drops of vaccine into the mouth of the children. After giving the vaccine the nurses inform the parents that they shouldn’t give anything to eat or drink to their child for half an hour otherwise the vaccine given to the child won’t be of any use.
